Two paths to locate the best target
Brain source activity — A brain map from patient’s qEEG or fMRI identifies the region of interest directly. Start here when the source of abnormal activity is cortically accessible.
Unique Navigation by Connectivity — Select a symptom-relevant network or deep node. LucerumCarto resolves the cortical region most strongly connected to it, applying the same logic behind sgACC–DLPFC targeting in depression — yet available for any dysregulated node or condition.

Every candidate region — whether a direct cortical source or a surface proxy for a deeper node — is evaluated against the coil's depth–focality tradeoff and modeled for the best achievable induced E-field, within established superficial-exposure safety limits. If a target cannot be adequately stimulated from directly above it, LucerumCarto tells you before the session begins.
Optimize for both field and dysregulation
When the coil position directly above a target cannot deliver optimal field strength due to orientation, LucerumCarto's algorithms jointly maximize the effective E-field at the best achievable tangential coil orientation and the location of dysregulation.
The result is the coil position that delivers both the strongest feasible clinically relevant dose and the maximal engagement with the dysregulated tissue.
